Update: BC Rent Bank funding secured through March 2027
April 2, 2026
We’re pleased to share an important update about BC Rent Bank. The Government of B.C. has confirmed $1.3 million in funding for the 2026/27 fiscal year, ensuring the program will continue through at least next March!
This achievement would not have been possible without your support. By sending a letter and lending your voice, you joined thousands of people who helped highlight the essential role BC Rent Bank plays in preventing evictions and improving housing stability across the province.
Your advocacy directly contributed to this positive outcome, and we are sincerely grateful.
We also want to acknowledge and thank the Government of British Columbia for their renewed commitment to BC Rent Bank. This investment allows us to continue providing essential services while we work collaboratively with the province over the coming year to strengthen the program and ensure its long-term sustainability.
But did you know that Government of B.C. funding only accounts for 64% of our total costs? While donations from municipal governments and funding from federal programs help to make up the rest, we need support from people like you.
Thank you again for your support, and for helping make sure BC Rent Bank is there to support renters when they need it most.
