Are you interested in starting a rent bank in your community?

Below are four easy steps to take in preparing for the launch of a rent bank. Upon securing funding, know that we have more supports in place to support staff in their role as rent bank coordinators.

  • STEP 1 - Download & Review BC Rent Bank Toolkit & Workbook

    The BC Rent Bank Toolkit, developed by Vancity, is a 4-part, practice-based resource designed to equip community in launching a rent bank. SEE DOWNLOADS SECTION BELOW.

  • STEP 2 - Apply for Development Grant

    The Development Grant was created to help provide critical funding for establishing the right team and model in setting up a rent bank. Click here for application.

  • STEP 3 - Establish a Cross-Sector Planning Team & Build a Model

    Utilizing the principles outlined in the Toolkit, strategic teams can build models best suited for your region. Bringing together the right voices and model will help sustain a rent bank over the long term.

  • STEP 4 - Apply for Seed Funding from BC Rent Bank
