Research and Advocacy

One of BC Rent Banks’ strategic prioririties is to address the structural and systemic barriers facing renters to reduce new instances of homelessness in B.C.

We aim to achieve this by:

– supporting and coordinating research to better understand what leads to housing instability
– developing strategic partnerships to mobilize solutions
– advocating for policies and practices that support housing stability and prevent homelessness.

To support eviction/homelessness prevention, shelter diversion, and housing stability research and advocacy, BC Rent Bank is providing open-source data collected through the rent bank program. If you’re interested in partnering with us to advance this mission, please complete the “Data Sharing Agreement” package and submit to our Managing Director, Melissa Giles.
